TANDO ALLAHYAR: A meeting of the District Polio Eradication Committee was held at the deputy commissioner’s office to review arrangements for the National Immunisation Days campaign scheduled for April 2026.
The session was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Noor Mustafa Laghari and attended by assistant commissioners, the district health officer, and representatives from the health, education, police, municipal, and information departments.
Addressing participants, Laghari said eradicating polio was a national responsibility requiring close inter-departmental coordination. He directed officials to ensure that every child under five years of age in the district received polio drops during the upcoming campaign.
He instructed health authorities to strengthen micro-planning, enhance team training, and tighten security and monitoring to ensure no child was missed. Officials informed the meeting that vaccination teams had been formed to achieve assigned targets, with special focus on high-risk union councils.
The deputy commissioner stressed the role of religious scholars, teachers, community leaders, and the media in raising awareness and supporting the drive. He warned that negligence would not be tolerated and urged officers to remain active in the field.
The meeting concluded with a collective pledge to make Tando Allahyar polio-free through coordinated efforts.
