TANDO ALLAH YAR: A symbolic sit-in by the Shia Ulema Council in Tando Allahyar was held on the Hyderabad–Mirpurkhas Road to protest against the Islamabad bomb blast.

Addressing the protest, Farhan Pitafi, Maulana Moazzam Ali Ghadiri, Alamdar Haideri, Syed Jan Muhammad Shah and Advocate Sahib Kaloi said the explosion during Friday prayers at a mosque and imambargah in the Tarlai area of Islamabad was an act of open brutality and one of the worst forms of terrorism.

They said the entire nation was grieving over the martyrdom of innocent worshippers. The speakers said targeting a place of worship raised serious questions about the security system, which they said had failed to protect the lives of innocent citizens. They said the attack was not directed at any single group but was an assault on peace and humanity as a whole.

They expressed solidarity with the families of those killed and said fear, silence and compromise would not be accepted. Prayers were also offered for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs and for the swift recovery of the injured.
