DADU: Three women were abducted and two others injured when armed men stormed a house in Jan Muhammad Bhatti village, near Sehwan, reportedly over a family dispute linked to a love marriage.
The victims—Sonia, Samina, and Naghma Brahmani—were seized after the assailants opened fire when relatives resisted. Police have registered a case under the Anti-Terrorism Act at Saddar Police Station, naming 20 accused, and have arrested two suspects, Mithal and Sharjeel of the Chandio community.
Authorities said the dispute stems from a previous marriage between members of the Chandio and Brahmani communities, which escalated tensions. SSP Zafar Siddique Chhanga confirmed raids are ongoing for the safe recovery of the women, while efforts are also being made to resolve the issue peacefully to avoid tribal clashes. The incident has sparked fear among local residents.
