SUKKUR: Two separate cases of Karo-Kari (honour killings) were reported in Khairpur and Shikarpur districts.
In Village Lal Dino Ujjan, within the limits of Tando Masti Police Station, Khairpur, Sajjad Ujjan allegedly shot dead his wife, Gulnaz, citing suspicion of illicit relations with another man.
Following directives from SSP Khairpur Dr. Samiullah Soomro, SHO Tando Masti arrested the accused and recovered a pistol as he attempted to flee the crime scene. In Shikarpur’s Dawan Shah locality, a young girl, Sumaira, daughter of Amanullah Bhutto, was allegedly killed by her brother, Gullab Bhutto, in the name of honour.
The victim’s body has been taken into police custody and shifted to the hospital for further proceedings. The accused brother has fled the scene. The victim’s aunt revealed that Sumaira’s wedding preparations were underway at the time of the incident.
