ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Army’s Public Relations Department, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), has reported a thwarted terrorist attack on a Frontier Corps post in Zhob district. During the confrontation, two terrorists were killed, while Havildar Jamsher Khan made the ultimate sacrifice for his country.

According to ISPR, a group of armed militants attempted to breach the Frontier Corps post, but the security forces successfully repelled the assault. The operation resulted in the deaths of two terrorists, one of whom was identified as a suicide bomber. The ISPR confirmed that among the slain terrorists was Umar, also known as Umari, who was wanted for various terrorist activities, including an attack on the convoy of the Deputy Commissioner of Shirani. Umar was implicated in multiple assaults on security forces and civilians alike.

The operation involved intense exchanges of fire, culminating in the martyrdom of Havildar Jamsher Khan, whose bravery has been commended by military officials. The ISPR stated that a sanitization operation is currently underway to locate any remaining terrorists in the vicinity, affirming that security forces remain resolute in their commitment to maintain peace and stability in Balochistan. “The sacrifices of our brave soldiers only strengthen our resolve to combat terrorism,” the ISPR statement read, underscoring the military’s determination to prevent any attempts to undermine the region’s peace. As security forces continue their efforts, the incident serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing challenges faced in the fight against terrorism in Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi paid rich tribute to the security forces for foiling a terrorist attack on an FC check post in Zhob, expressing heartfelt condolences to the family of Havaldar Jamshed Khan, who was martyred in the firing incident. Mohsin Naqvi commended the bravery of security forces, saying, “I congratulate the brave personnel of the security forces for thwarting the attack and sending two terrorists to hell.” He further stated that security forces deserve appreciation for foiling the terrorists’ nefarious plans.
