WASHINGTON: The Trump administration has approved the sale of $151 million worth of bombs to Israel.
According to the US State Department, Israel requested 12,000 one-thousand-pound bomb bodies. The sale includes engineering, technical assistance, logistics, and program support.
The State Department said the immediate sale of defense equipment and services to Israel serves US national security interests and will strengthen the security of a key regional ally.
Officials noted the sale will enhance Israel’s ability to address current and future threats. Under Section 36B of the Arms Export Control Act, the usual congressional review requirement has been waived.
