BAGHDAD: The American embassy in the Iraqi capital was struck by a drone attack, with the defensive system activating to intercept the incoming aircraft. According to Arab media reports, the drone crashed within the embassy compound, marking the latest in a series of escalating strikes against American diplomatic and military installations across the region.
Missile and drone attacks continue to target US bases in Gulf countries including Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, as regional hostilities expand beyond the Iran-Israel theater. International media reports confirmed that another Pakistani national has been killed in strikes on the UAE, bringing the total number of fatalities in the country to seven.
In Abu Dhabi, authorities managed to bring under control a fire that erupted at the Shah Gas Field following a drone attack, while an oil tanker near Fujairah sustained minor damage after being struck by an unknown projectile. The UAE’s Ministry of Defense reported that its defensive systems had intercepted 10 ballistic missiles and 45 drones since morning, demonstrating the scale and intensity of the ongoing aerial campaign.
The coordinated attacks against American and allied targets across multiple countries signal a widening of the conflict that began with direct Iran-Israel exchanges, now drawing in US facilities throughout the Middle East. Diplomatic missions and energy infrastructure have emerged as key targets, raising concerns about further escalation and the security of critical installations in the region.
