ISLAMABAD: Chief of Defence Staff and Army Chief, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, visited Quetta on Wednesday, reaffirming Pakistan’s uncompromising stance against terrorism and violent extremism.
During the visit, he emphasized that no terrorist, militant, or their facilitator would be spared, underlining the military’s resolve to protect civilians and state institutions from acts of violence. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Field Marshal Munir commended the professionalism, courage, and sacrifices of law enforcement personnel, paramilitary forces, and army units operating in Balochistan.
Field Marshal Munir toured the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Quetta alongside Chief Minister Balochistan, meeting soldiers, paramilitary personnel, and police officers who were recovering from injuries sustained during recent attacks. The visit provided an opportunity to assess the welfare of personnel on the frontlines of counter-terrorism operations.
Upon arrival, the army chief was received by the Quetta Corps Commander and briefed on the current security situation, internal stability, and ongoing operations in the province. His engagements highlighted the close coordination between the military and provincial authorities to ensure timely and effective responses to security threats.
Speaking to reporters and officials, Munir reiterated that terrorism and violence can never be justified, stressing the importance of upholding law, order, and public safety. He emphasized that the armed forces remain fully committed to supporting law enforcement agencies in maintaining stability, while pursuing ongoing operations against militant networks that continue to threaten the province.
