KARACHI: Karachi’s Mayor, Murtaza Wahab, carried out a late-night inspection of ongoing development work along Jahangir Road, urging officials to accelerate the projects and complete them as swiftly as possible.
Speaking directly to the team on-site, Mayor Wahab emphasized the need to finish the work ahead of schedule, saying it was time to set a new benchmark for efficiency in the city’s municipal projects. He pledged to personally oversee project briefings, signaling a departure from the traditional closed-door approach to governance.
Highlighting the strategic importance of Jahangir Road, the mayor acknowledged the hardships faced by residents and expressed determination to ensure that Karachi regained its status as a city of lights.
Officials present noted the mayor’s hands-on approach, with his inspection serving as both a directive and a reassurance to the public that development efforts were being closely monitored.
The visit underscored the municipal administration’s push for transparency and accountability, as the city seeks to balance rapid urban development with the daily needs of its residents.
