SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: The Wana Jandola Road Rehabilitation Project was formally inaugurated, marking a significant improvement in public travel facilities for residents of Wana, Jandola, and surrounding areas. The project, completed at a cost of over Rs. 56 million, has upgraded this vital road to modern engineering standards, reducing travel time and facilitating trade, commerce, and regional connectivity.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Member of the National Assembly Zubair Wazir and Member of the Provincial Assembly Asif Khan Mehsud as chief guests, along with Executive Engineer C&W South Waziristan Zahid Mahmood, contractor Noor Hassan Mehsud, local elders, social figures, and numerous residents.
Speaking at the event, MPA Asif Khan Mehsud highlighted the road’s strategic importance as a key artery for the area. “Its rehabilitation will provide improved travel facilities to the public and open new avenues for development,” he said, emphasizing that the provincial government prioritizes infrastructure development to address longstanding underdevelopment in South Waziristan.
MNA Zubair Wazir described the project as a tangible fulfillment of promises made to the local population. He stated that improved road infrastructure would enhance access to education, healthcare, trade, and employment opportunities, thereby raising the overall quality of life. He also assured continued federal support for the development of South Waziristan.
Executive Engineer Zahid Mahmood briefed attendees on the project, confirming that rehabilitation work followed modern engineering standards to ensure long-term durability. Contractor Noor Hassan Mehsud added that quality was never compromised during construction, ensuring the public received a reliable and safe facility.
Residents praised the completion of the project, expressing optimism that such development initiatives would usher in prosperity and hoped that future infrastructure projects would continue to bring essential facilities and opportunities to South Waziristan.
