TEHRAN: The spokesman for Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) has dismissed American military posturing, asserting that conflicts are determined on the battlefield rather than through social media campaigns. Brigadier General Ibrahim Zolfaghari stated that the US operation should be named “Epic Fear” instead of “Epic Fury,” mocking Washington’s nomenclature for its military actions against Iranian forces.
In an official statement, Zolfaghari emphasized that no amount of propaganda or digital warfare can alter the reality of confrontation, which he insisted would be decided by forces on the ground. His remarks come amid escalating tensions following American airstrikes on Iranian positions and ongoing exchanges in the region.
Separately, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf addressed regional security arrangements, stressing that stability in the Middle East must be sustainable and internally driven rather than imposed from outside. “Regional security must be lasting, it should not be enforced by outsiders,” Ghalibaf said in a statement, reinforcing Tehran’s longstanding position that external powers, particularly the United States, have no role in determining the security architecture of the region.
The twin statements reflect Iran’s defiant posture as conflict with the United States and its allies continues, with Tehran signaling that despite military setbacks, it remains committed to resisting foreign influence and determining its own strategic outcomes.
