JEDDAH: The Pakistan Journalists Forum, the country’s oldest voluntary media organization, held a web conference to mark the 299th Foundation Day of Saudi Arabia. The event was themed “Foundation Day of Saudi Arabia and Vision 2030: History, Identity and Bright Future.”
Forum members paid tribute to Saudi leadership, noting the country’s remarkable development under the guidance of its people and rich historical heritage. Speakers highlighted the achievements of King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, describing Saudi Arabia as a guiding force for the Islamic world.
Forum President Maroof Hussain, General Secretary Jamil Ratho, and Khalid Cheema emphasized that the Foundation Day, celebrated annually on 22 February, commemorates the establishment of the first Saudi state in Dariyah in 1727. The day, they said, represents pride, unity, and national identity, while inspiring hope and determination for the future.
Forum Chairman Amir Muhammad Khan outlined the historical significance, explaining that Imam Muhammad bin Saud founded a united and strong state that brought peace, stability, and promoted Islamic culture, education, and trade in the Arabian Peninsula. Members also praised Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s Vision 2030, calling it the beginning of a new era for Saudi Arabia.
The Zoom session was attended by Shahid Naeem, Maroof Hussain, Jamil Rathore, Khalid Cheema, Zakir Bhatti, Amanatullah, Asad Akram, Maryam Shahid, Alia Khan, Javed Rahu, Amil Usmani, and Fawzia Khan.
