
SUKKUR: In observance of World First Aid Day, the Students Societies Center (SSC) at Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU), in partnership with the Center for Peace & Development Initiative (CPDI) and Rescue 1122, hosted a special training session dedicated to teaching essential first aid techniques. This initiative aimed to enhance students’ and volunteers’ preparedness for emergencies, particularly in disaster and flood situations.
The event featured a lineup of expert speakers from Rescue 1122, including Inspector Muhammad Awais, Noor Nabi, and Latif Dino. Inspector Awais highlighted the crucial role of paramedics and conducted live demonstrations on proper first aid procedures, ensuring that attendees gained practical knowledge on responding effectively during emergencies. Noor Nabi contributed to the session with a focus on the life-saving importance of first aid.
His discussion deepened the participants’ understanding of how first aid can be pivotal in critical situations. Dr. Majid Ansari, Chairman of the Department of Biochemistry, praised the efforts of Rescue 1122 and expressed appreciation for the enthusiastic student participation. Dr. Irshad Hussain Wassan, Dr. Akhlaq Hussain Larik, Shumila Rubab Rizvi, Sadia, and Aisha, who had previously attended a CPDI orientation session in Karachi, also emphasized the crucial role of rescue teams in providing immediate aid during crises.
