SUKKUR: A 15-member delegation visited the Sindh Rural Support Organization in Sukkur on Sunday to gain first-hand exposure to its development initiatives and community-based programs.
The main purpose of the visit was to provide practical knowledge and awareness of SRSO’s work to young leaders and students from different cities and universities across Pakistan. During the visit, the delegation toured various departments of the organisation and the Sartiyon Sang Crafts Outlet located within the SRSO complex.
The visitors also met and interacted with women leaders from rural community organisations in the districts of Khairpur and Sukkur, where discussions focused on local development, livelihoods and leadership at the grassroots level.

SRSO’s chief executive officer, Muhammad Dittal Kalhoro, gave a detailed briefing on the organisation’s work and thanked the delegation for its visit. UNODC representative Syed Hussain Haider described the visit as an important and beneficial learning experience.
Students and young leaders said the visit helped them better understand community-driven development, particularly the functioning of grassroots institutions and the role of women in leadership. They also appreciated the opportunity to interact directly with development practitioners and community representatives.
