ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari conferred the country’s highest civil award, the Nishan-e-Pakistan, on the visiting Indonesian President, Prabowo Subianto, in a ceremony that unfolded with a sense of both dignity and diplomatic warmth.

As the insignia was placed, President Zardari spoke of the deep historical ties between the two nations and the shared values that had shaped their relationship across generations.
