KARACHI: Sindh will host the Asia Pacific Shelter Forum 2026 from 11 to 13 February, welcoming international organizations and foreign delegations to the province. Chief Secretary Sindh, Asif Hyder Shah, chaired a high-level meeting to review preparations for the event, describing the forum as an important honor for the province.

Shah directed that all arrangements be completed on time, including security, protocol, and traffic management plans. He instructed all relevant departments to remain alert and ensure smooth execution of the forum. “Sindh is fully prepared to host this global-level shelter forum,” he said.

The meeting was attended by IG Police Sindh, Chairman of the Planning and Development Department, Commissioner Karachi, and the Chief Executive Officer of Sindh Peoples Housing for Flood Affected (SPHF). Representatives from the Information, Transport, and Culture Departments, DIG Traffic Karachi, Pakistan Rangers, National Disaster Management Authority, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and other concerned agencies also participated.

The forum aims to provide a platform for international collaboration on shelter, disaster management, and urban resilience, highlighting Sindh’s commitment to global standards in humanitarian planning and response.
