LARKANA: Ahead of the 18th death anniversary of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, Sindh Interior Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjhar visited the SSP office in Larkana to preside over a high-level security briefing.
The session included DIG Larkana, SSP Larkana, and other senior district officials, focusing on police preparedness and operational plans for Gadhi Khuda Bakhsh, Nodero, and surrounding areas. According to officials, 8,500 police personnel have been deployed for the event, supported by additional forces from the Central Police Office, Rapid Response Force, and women police officers.
Security measures include four-layer protection at the mausoleum, comprehensive sweeping of VIP routes, key locations, and surrounding areas, as well as installation of permanent night vision cameras and solar-powered surveillance systems along main access points, including kachha areas.
Police posts have been refurbished and fully equipped, while special teams will monitor the mausoleum, gathering venues, and routes for any suspicious activity. Access restrictions will prohibit bags or parcels inside the venue, and traffic management plans with alternative routes have been implemented to ensure public convenience and safety.
The Interior Minister emphasized strict enforcement to prevent any disturbance of law and order, urging citizens to cooperate with security agencies and report any suspicious activity immediately. All measures aim to guarantee a secure and orderly commemoration across the province.
