ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on Monday and discussed recent developments in the region.
The two ministers exchanged views on the evolving regional situation and discussed matters of mutual interest. They reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation between Pakistan and Türkiye, particularly on issues requiring closer coordination and diplomatic engagement.
The conversation came amid continuing political and security challenges in the region, with both countries maintaining close diplomatic contacts over developments affecting regional peace and stability.
Dar and Fidan agreed that dialogue and diplomacy remained the most effective ways of addressing regional challenges. They stressed the importance of continued engagement between countries to prevent tensions from escalating and create conditions for lasting peace.
The two ministers also underlined the need for closer cooperation on matters of common concern. They agreed to remain engaged and continue consultations as regional developments unfolded.
Pakistan and Türkiye had maintained close political and diplomatic relations and had frequently supported greater regional cooperation and the peaceful resolution of disputes. Islamabad had also consistently called for dialogue as a means of dealing with conflicts and avoiding further instability.
The discussion between Dar and Fidan reflected the two countries’ continued efforts to coordinate their positions on regional issues. Both sides reiterated their intention to strengthen bilateral cooperation and maintain regular contact on matters of mutual interest.
The foreign ministers agreed that sustained diplomatic efforts were essential at a time when several parts of the region were facing political uncertainty and security challenges.
