KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari paid tribute to the late Benazir Bhutto on her 18th death anniversary, describing her life as a rare blend of courage and compassion.
Bilawal Bhutto said her ultimate sacrifice stands as a blood-written pledge that democracy in Pakistan will never yield. He emphasized that Benazir Bhutto was not merely a political leader, but a fearless voice for democracy, a beacon of hope for the oppressed, and an indomitable symbol of resistance against dictatorship, extremism, and intolerance.
Reflecting on her tenure as Prime Minister, he noted that despite immense challenges, she promoted people-centric policies, strengthened Pakistan’s defence, safeguarded national sovereignty, and restored the country’s progressive and respected identity on the global stage.
