KARACHI: Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori has praised the Sindh Scouts for a century of service, describing the movement as a living symbol of discipline, patriotism and character-building among the country’s youth.

Speaking as chief guest at the Sindh Scouts’ 100th anniversary celebrations on 26 December, Tessori paid tribute to the organization’s organizers and leaders for their hundred years of contribution to service, sacrifice and nation-building. He said the occasion was not merely the conclusion of a jamboree but a reflection of a century-long struggle dedicated to the country.

The governor said nations are built not by buildings but by character, adding that the Scouts serve as a practical training ground for discipline, patriotism and moral development. He urged young people to equip themselves with the demands of the modern age, including artificial intelligence, so they could face future challenges effectively.

Referring to recent developments, Tessori said the country’s “Shaheens” had defeated the enemy on 10 May, lifting national pride, and claimed that international newspapers and journals were praising Pakistan’s foreign policy and leadership, placing the country at the center of global attention. He attributed what he described as success against India to the strategy of Field Marshal General Asim Munir, saying it had enhanced Pakistan’s standing in the world.

Tessori said initiatives launched from the Governor House, including IT education programs and the distribution of laptops, motorcycles and ration, would help empower young people and enable them to become self-reliant.

During the ceremony, scout boys presented a Rajasthani song as well as a performance in the Hunza language, which was warmly received by participants. The governor later distributed awards and shields among scouts who had shown outstanding performance.
