SUKKUR: The Hyderabad Indus Lions Club has been commended for providing welfare services without discrimination, as hundreds of patients received free eye treatment at its annual medical camp in Latifabad.
The remarks were made by Haji Muhammad Yasin Arain, founder and general secretary of the Bhai Khan Welfare Association, during a visit to the 49th two-day annual free eye camp organized by the Indus Lions Club at Ayesha Park, Latifabad. Speaking to club officials, he described the initiative as a valuable contribution to public welfare.
The chief organizer of the camp, Imtiaz Ahmed Khan, briefed the visiting delegation, saying around 1,200 patients had been examined and about 500 surgeries carried out during the camp. A large number of office-bearers and members of the Indus Lions Club and the Bhai Khan Welfare Association were present on the occasion, along with local representatives.
During the visit, Arain spoke with patients to gather feedback on the facilities provided. Patients said that eye examinations, diagnostic tests, food, medicines, spectacles and surgical gowns were all provided free of charge, adding that the camp administration had been cooperative and respectful throughout.
Arain congratulated the Indus Lions Club administration on the arrangements and assured them of his organization’s full support and cooperation for similar welfare initiatives in the future.
