DIG East Zone Dr Farukh Ali praises officers for disciplined operations and public safety

KARACHI: East Zone Police successfully prevented celebratory firing during New Year festivities, registering 53 FIRs and arresting 44 suspects, recovering 22 pistols, six rifles, 127 live rounds, and 27 empty shells.
DIG East Zone Dr Farukh Ali lauded the performance of officers and personnel, describing their professionalism, discipline, and field vigilance as exemplary. He noted that proactive planning, constant monitoring, and coordinated team efforts were key in controlling a potentially dangerous trend, ensuring citizens’ safety and maintaining public order.
Special deployments at sensitive locations, enhanced patrolling, and on-the-ground guidance from the DIG himself contributed to a peaceful start to the year. Dr Farukh Ali emphasized that safeguarding lives and property remains the primary responsibility of police, and urged officers to maintain the same commitment in future operations.
The crackdown reflects the East Zone Police’s effective strategy and zero-tolerance policy against illegal celebratory firing.
