NOORIABAD: Two passengers were killed and ten others, including women and children, injured when a coach collided with a trailer on the M-9 Motorway near Nooriabad on Friday.
Rescue officials said the coach, travelling from Punjab to Karachi, crashed while attempting to overtake another vehicle at high speed. Teams rushed to the scene and launched relief operations immediately.
The injured were taken to Liaquat Medical University Hospital (LUMHS) in Jamshoro after receiving first aid. Two passengers died while being transported. One of the deceased was identified as 45-year-old Asif, a resident of Rahim Yar Khan. The identity of the other victim was not immediately known.
The bodies were moved to the hospital for legal formalities. Rescue sources said three of the injured were in critical condition. Police seized both the coach and the trailer, but the trailer driver fled the scene.
