KARACHI: Barrister Murtaza Wahab, paid tribute to Quaid-e-Awam Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto on his birth anniversary, lauding his enduring impact on Pakistan’s political and democratic landscape.

Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Wahab said that Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto continues to live in the hearts of the people, and his name will forever be etched in golden letters in Pakistan’s history. He highlighted Bhutto’s role in giving Pakistan the 1973 consensus Constitution, which laid a strong democratic foundation for the country.

The mayor added that Bhutto endowed Pakistan with a constitutional identity, national dignity, and political awareness, and that his relentless struggle for democracy and citizens’ rights remains a guiding example. He described Bhutto as the founder of people-centric politics, who placed ordinary citizens at the center of governance and declared the people the true source of power.

Mayor Wahab said that Bhutto’s philosophy continues to inspire the oppressed and marginalized, serving as an enduring model for future generations. He also noted that the Quaid-e-Awam strengthened Pakistan’s global standing and laid the groundwork for its emergence as a nuclear power, bolstering national security.

Concluding his remarks, Mayor Wahab stated that Karachi and the nation as a whole continue to draw inspiration from Bhutto’s ideals and people-friendly philosophy, and that the pursuit of public welfare, democracy, and social justice envisioned by the Quaid-e-Awam will remain a guiding mission until fully realized.
