DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Regional Police Officer (RPO) Dera Ismail Khan, Syed Ashfaq Anwar, has taken immediate notice of social media reports alleging that Accounts Office staff demanded Rs 10,000 as bribes in connection with police upgradation arrears.
Acting swiftly, the RPO constituted an inquiry committee comprising the District Police Officer (DPO) Dera Ismail Khan, Superintendent of Police (SP) Saddar, and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Headquarters. The committee has been tasked with conducting a transparent investigation and submitting its findings within one week.
In addition, RPO Anwar directed the DPOs of Tank, South Waziristan (Lower), and South Waziristan (Upper) to personally oversee the prompt resolution of all pending police upgradation cases.
He stressed that no negligence or delay in ensuring police officials receive their legitimate dues would be tolerated, and warned that anyone found involved in corrupt practices would face strict legal action in accordance with the law.
