DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Acting on the directives of the district administration, an ongoing anti-encroachment drive was carried out in various parts of the city under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner Dera, Syed Muhammad Arsalan.
During the operation, Tehsildar Dera, officials from the revenue department, staff of the Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA), the Deputy Superintendent of Police (Traffic), along with police and traffic police personnel, were present on the spot to ensure the smooth and effective execution of the campaign.
According to official details, eight shopkeepers located on Thoya Fazal Road voluntarily removed permanent encroachments, including portions of their shops that had been constructed within the road’s right of way, following the deadline issued by the district administration. As a result of this action, obstructions on the road were cleared and approximately two marlas of state land were recovered.
Similarly, the main road in front of Shobra Hotel in Shah Jahan Shaheed Town (Kachi Paind Khan) was cleared of encroachments to restore the flow of traffic and public access.
Furthermore, stairs, ramps and other illegal structures constructed on the eastern side of the main Bannu Circular Road, from Shobra Hotel to Fawara Chowk, were also removed during the operation.
In addition, shopkeepers from Fawara Chowk to GPO Chowk were issued warnings and directed to remove sheds, stalls, shutters and other encroachments falling within the road’s right of way on their own. Authorities cautioned that failure to comply would result in legal action under the relevant laws.
Officials stated that the purpose of the anti-encroachment drive is to keep public thoroughfares clear, improve traffic flow and ensure the safe and convenient movement of citizens.
