DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Following the special directives of the Deputy Commissioner of Dera Ismail Khan, a large-scale and comprehensive anti-encroachment operation was carried out across Tehsil Prova under the supervision of the Assistant Commissioner Prova.
The operation was executed with the full support of the Revenue Field Staff, Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) Prova, and the Police Department, ensuring coordinated and effective action.
During the drive, illegal occupations on government land at multiple locations were removed, and practical measures were taken to resolve issues faced by the public.
In Mauza Garah Noor Khan, along the main road, encroachments on valuable provincial government land were cleared, resulting in the recovery of 7 kanals and 15 marlas of land. The commercial value of this recovered land, calculated at Rs 58,800 per marla, amounts to approximately Rs 91.14 million.
Similarly, a major operation was conducted against encroachments on land owned by the National Highway Authority (NHA), where illegal structures had been built on both sides of the road. As a result, 22 kanals and 19 marlas of government land were fully retrieved, with an estimated commercial value of Rs 26.99 million.
In the Prova main bazaar, action was also taken against encroachments that were obstructing drainage channels and causing blockages in public pathways. The operation successfully cleared the drains, improved sanitation conditions, and restored smooth traffic flow. Citizens expressed appreciation for the administration’s timely and effective action.
According to the district administration, protecting government land, ensuring public facilities, and improving civic order remain top priorities. The administration emphasized that the anti-encroachment campaign will continue without interruption, and no individual will be allowed to occupy government land illegally.
Residents and local social circles have welcomed the operation and urged that such initiatives be carried out regularly to ensure the permanent removal of encroachments.
