DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Gomal University in Dera Ismail Khan witnessed a moment of pride and academic distinction as Dr Faisal Islam from the Department of Sports Sciences and Physical Education successfully defended his PhD thesis.
Dr Faisal Islam’s research, titled “Exploring Sports Participation as a Dynamic Tool for Social Development and Sustainable Peace: Mediating Role of Religious Orientation,” was described as a comprehensive and high-quality scholarly contribution. The thesis examines the role of sports in fostering social development and promoting sustainable peace, and was highly appreciated by the academic panel and subject experts for its depth, relevance and academic rigour.
The research was supervised by the renowned scholar Dr Noor Muhammad, whose academic guidance and mentorship were acknowledged as playing a key role in the successful completion of the study.
Dr Faisal Islam is currently serving as an assistant professor at Government Degree College No. 1, Dera Ismail Khan. His achievement is considered particularly significant as he has become the first PhD scholar in Sports Sciences and Physical Education at the college level in the region.
The university administration, faculty members and colleagues congratulated Dr Faisal Islam on this notable academic achievement and extended their best wishes for his future pursuits in teaching, research and scholarly work.
