KARACHI: The Karachi administration has announced the Sixth Commissioner Karachi Marathon – a 10-kilometer city run – scheduled for 25 January 2026. The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Commissioner Karachi Syed Hasan Naqvi.

The meeting was attended by DIG Traffic Pir Muhammad Shah, Deputy Commissioner South Javed Nabi Khosa, Additional Commissioners Ghulam Mehdi Shah and Asadullah Khosa, Assistant Commissioner General Hazim Bhangwar, Director Sports Ghulam Muhammad Khan, and other officials.

DIG Traffic Pir Muhammad Shah was appointed chairman of the marathon’s organizing committee. Commissioner Hasan Naqvi said the event would promote positive activities, boost civic engagement, and support government efforts to foster a healthy and safe city. He encouraged citizens to participate enthusiastically.

All arrangements for registration and the marathon route have been finalized. The run will start from the Tower, pass through city streets, and conclude at Club Road. Registration has begun at the Commissioner’s office, and participants can also register online via the Commissioner Karachi’s website.

The marathon will include five categories, with a separate category for children and special persons. Cash prizes will be awarded to winners in all categories, while all finishers who complete the run within the stipulated time will receive medals.
