KHYBER: Political activity in District Khyber has gained fresh momentum with the official reactivation of the Khyber Political Alliance and the formation of a new cabinet for the next six months. Alliance leaders reaffirmed their commitment to joint efforts, mutual cooperation, and presenting a united voice on regional issues. They also announced plans to convene a large public jirga.

The key meeting took place at the District Press Club in Landi Kotal, with active participation from leaders and representatives of various political parties. Discussions focused on serious regional challenges, problems facing local citizens, and the reorganization of the alliance.

The new cabinet was announced unanimously, with Murad Hussain Afridi of Jamaat-e-Islami, Landi Kotal, as President. Haji Zarbulah Shinwari of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf was named General Secretary, Sattar Afghan of Awami National Party as Senior Vice President, Abbas Afridi of Pakistan Peoples Party as First Vice President, and Amir Maulana Aqib of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F as Second Vice President. Mohib Afridi of PML-N will serve as Information Secretary, Amanullah as Finance Secretary, and Maulana Azim Shah as Deputy General Secretary.

Speaking at the meeting, President Murad Hussain Afridi said the long-standing challenges faced by the people of Khyber would not be ignored. He stressed that all parties would rise above differences to advocate for public rights. He added that the upcoming public jirga would genuinely reflect the sentiments and demands of the district’s residents.
