    Rs9.6m in scholarships handed out across Dera Division

    DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Commissioner Dera Division Dawood Khan distributed scholarships worth Rs9.6 million under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s “Stori Da Pakhtunkhwa” program, in a ceremony aimed at recognizing and encouraging talented students across the district.

    The cheque distribution event was organized by the Dera Ismail Khan Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) at Mufti Mehmood School and College, with the Commissioner serving as the chief guest.

    The ceremony was attended by Chairman BISE Dera, Professor Dr. Ehsanullah, Controller Secretary Dr. Qayyum Nawaz, Assistant Controller Tariq Javed, the Assistant to the Commissioner for Political Development, Sajjad Baloch, along with parents and a large number of students.

    Addressing the gathering, Commissioner Dawood Khan described the scholarship program as a vital initiative to support bright students and enable them to continue their educational journeys. He lauded the efforts of the board’s leadership and staff in organizing the ceremony and emphasized the importance of hard work and excellence in today’s competitive era.

    During the event, scholarships were awarded to top-performing students across different categories. Twenty Matric Science toppers of 2024 received Rs120,000 each, amounting to Rs2.4 million. FA/FSc toppers were granted 20 scholarships of Rs180,000 each, totalling Rs3.6 million. Additionally, 20 College Side 2022 toppers—10 from Science and 10 from Arts—received Rs360,000 each, adding another Rs3.6 million, bringing the total disbursed to Rs9.6 million.
