TANK: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sohail Afridi visited Tank district on Thursday to offer condolences to the families of police personnel killed in a recent terrorist attack at Gomal Police Station.
At Police Lines Tank, the leaders were received by Commissioner Dera Ismail Khan Dawood Khan, Regional Police Officer Syed Ashfaq Anwar, Deputy Commissioner Tanveer Ahmed, and District Police Officer Shabbir Hussain Shah.

Together, the chief minister and IGP laid floral wreaths at the Martyrs’ Memorial and offered prayers for the eternal peace and elevation of the ranks of those who had lost their lives. Addressing the families and local elders, CM Afridi said that those who sacrifice their lives for peace and security are immortal in history.
He assured the relatives of the fallen officers that the government would fully support them and take all possible steps to address their concerns. He also praised the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police and other security forces for their steadfast efforts in combating terrorism, adding that lasting peace in the province was within reach.

IGP Hameed expressed his heartfelt sympathy, describing the martyrs’ children as the children of the police force. He promised that their welfare would remain a top priority for the department.
Meanwhile, journalists in Tank held an emergency meeting to condemn the actions of DIG Dera Ismail Khan administration for barring local media from covering the visit of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi.
