JEDDAH: A distinguished event was organized in Jeddah to honor Pakistan Media President Zakaullah Mohsin, during which Saudi-Pakistan relations and the challenges facing journalists were discussed. The dinner was arranged by Pakistan Journalist Forum Chairman Amir Muhammad Khan and attended by prominent figures including Khalid Nawaz Cheema and Pakistan Journalist Forum General Secretary Jamil Rathore.
The gathering highlighted the role of Pakistani media as a trusted link between the Pakistani community in Saudi Arabia and their homeland. Speaking on Saudi-Pakistan relations, Zakaullah Mohsin emphasized that journalism serves not only as a source of news but also as a bridge of friendship and diplomacy between the two countries.
Participants also discussed the issues facing journalists, including security concerns, professional rights, and opportunities to amplify the voice of the community.
Chairman Amir Muhammad Khan remarked, “The Pakistani media and the overseas community are not just about reporting news but also a powerful source of national identity and public service.”
President Zakaullah Mohsin added, “It is our responsibility to raise our voice for journalists’ rights and uphold professional standards, as journalism is not merely a profession but a national mission.”
The event concluded with a collective commitment to strengthen cooperation among Pakistani journalists abroad, promote public service, and enhance the dignity and role of media in fostering relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
