DADU: A prolonged protest demanding the restoration of passenger and express train services on the ML-2 Sindh Larkana–Dadu section entered its 1,098th day, marking one of the longest peaceful struggles in the region’s history.
The sit-in at Sita Road, held on the call of the Sita Sarjanhar Forum, continued under the leadership of forum head Mashhoor Memon. On the 1,098th day, a large number of citizens took part in the demonstration, raising slogans and reiterating their demands. Among those present were Mumtaz Ali Solangi, Muhammad Ismail Solangi, Shahzad Ali Memon, Arbab Ali Janwari, Muhammad Akbar Khanzada, Ghulam Hussain Malik, Abdul Razzaq Siyal, Aazan Memon, Tariq Hussain Jokhio and Fida Hussain Malik, along with many others.
Addressing the protesters, speakers demanded the immediate restoration of the Bolan Mail and Khushhal Khan Khattak Express on the Larkana–Dadu section, calling for both trains to be operated on a daily basis. They also urged the authorities to upgrade the railway track from Kashmore to Kotri and to increase train speeds from 20 kilometres per hour to 100 kilometres per hour.
The protesters further demanded the immediate resumption of all suspended services, including the Shahnawaz Train, Shehbaz Train, Zulfiqar Train and the Dadu Passenger. They warned that if their demands were not met, the peaceful movement would be intensified.
