KARACHI: Landhi Town came alive with colour and fragrance as the annual flower exhibition was inaugurated by Muneem Zafar Khan, emir of Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi. The event was attended by Chairman Abdul Jameel Khan, TMC Syed Imdad Ali Shah, Vice Chairman Muhammad Imran, and social worker and patron Fakhrulhuda Irfan Butt.

The exhibition showcased a stunning array of colourful and ornamental flowers, attracting large crowds of residents, women and children. Attendees described the event as a positive step towards promoting healthy recreation and environmental beauty.

Addressing the gathering, Muneem Zafar Khan said, “The beauty of a city is created not just by its buildings but through positive activities, a green environment, and public participation. Events like this in Landhi Town bring hope, joy and positive thinking to urban life.” He added that it was the responsibility of elected representatives to provide citizens with a clean and green environment, and that every effort would continue to be made in this regard.

Chairman Abdul Jameel Khan said, “Alongside development projects, special attention is being given to environmental improvement to make Landhi Town a model area. With the cooperation of residents, we aim to make the locality even more beautiful and exemplary.”

During the inaugural ceremony, special prayers were offered for the victims and injured of the Gul Plaza tragedy. Leaders expressed solidarity with the affected families, calling for timely treatment of the injured, swift rehabilitation of the victims, and that those responsible be held accountable under the law.

The ceremony concluded with a commitment to continue positive, constructive and community-oriented activities in Landhi Town, ensuring residents enjoy a clean, safe and pleasant environment.
