ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar underlined the importance of sustaining the momentum of high-level exchanges between Pakistan and China, reiterating the need to further strengthen bilateral cooperation during a meeting with Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong in Islamabad.

The discussions reflected both sides’ commitment to nurturing a decades-long partnership encompassing political, economic, and strategic dimensions, which has consistently been a cornerstone of regional stability.

During the talks, Deputy Prime Minister Dar and Ambassador Jiang reviewed a wide range of bilateral issues of mutual interest, with both emphasizing the shared priority of deepening collaboration across multiple sectors. The conversation also extended to evolving regional and international developments, highlighting the two nations’ intent to coordinate efforts on issues of common concern and to safeguard stability across South and Central Asia.

Officials observed that such high-level consultations were crucial for reinforcing institutional dialogue, ensuring continuity in strategic cooperation, and providing a platform for identifying tangible outcomes. Both sides expressed optimism that ongoing engagement would open new avenues for trade, investment, and joint initiatives, strengthening not only government-to-government relations but also fostering people-to-people ties between Pakistan and China.

Observers described the meeting as a reaffirmation of the enduring partnership between the two countries, reflecting a pragmatic approach to diplomacy rooted in sustained dialogue, mutual benefit, and a focus on practical results. The engagement underscored Pakistan and China’s shared determination to consolidate a multifaceted relationship capable of addressing both national priorities and broader regional challenges.
