SUKKUR: The Mazdoor Union staged a protest on Tuesday against the removal of vegetable and fruit carts during an anti-encroachment operation by the Khairpur district administration.
Shahbaz Dino Phulpoto, a representative of the vendors, said the operation had unfairly targeted daily-wage traders who rely on their carts to support their families. In response, the union organized a rally, moving carts through Chhatti Chowk, Panjh Gulla Chowk, Phool Bagh, and other areas to highlight their grievances.
Phulpoto accused authorities of carrying out the operation selectively and urged that enforcement should be impartial, applying equally to both small vendors and larger traders involved in encroachments.
