DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Authorities in Dera Ismail Khan launched a major anti-encroachment operation across key city areas, aiming to restore smooth traffic flow and public convenience.
The operation, directed by Deputy Commissioner Abdul Nasir Khan and supervised by Assistant Commissioner Syed Muhammad Arslan, targeted Circular Road, Fakirni Gate, and Commissary Bazaar. Remaining encroachments along Circular Road from Syndicate Chowk to Liberty Plaza near St. John’s Church were removed, while illegal structures inside Fakirni Gate were also cleared.
In Commissary Bazaar, several shopkeepers were found placing goods on the road’s Right of Way despite repeated warnings, prompting legal action. The drive was conducted with the joint participation of revenue staff, municipal authorities, and traffic police.
Officials urged the public to avoid encroachments voluntarily and cooperate in maintaining civic order, warning that strict legal action would follow for any violations. The administration said anti-encroachment operations would continue regularly in the interest of public welfare and traffic management.
