SUKKUR: Sukkur authorities and community leaders have helped resolve a long-standing dispute between PPP MPA Raja Khan Mehar and businessman Vishal Kumar, bringing an end to tensions surrounding petrol pump accounts.
The disagreement, which escalated in recent weeks, was mediated by leaders of the Hindu Panchayat, including Mukki Chandraban, who played a key role in bringing both sides to the negotiating table. A joint committee has been formed to review and settle the petrol pump accounts, with a first meeting scheduled for February 1.
The committee, comprising Ghansham Das, Pehlaj Kumar, Gul Muhammad Mehar, Arjun Das, and Madharam, will conduct a thorough investigation to resolve the differences between the two parties. Vishal Kumar expressed optimism, saying the process would help restore normalcy and reopen the petrol pump, which had been closed.
The talks were attended by prominent local figures, including Raja Khan Mehar’s manager Noor Muhammad, Zulfiqar Ali Mehar, Vishal Kumar’s relatives Dr. Satwan Das and Lal Chand, and Panchayat members Ramesh Lal and Sundar Das.
The dispute had earlier drawn widespread attention after Vishal Kumar alleged he was tortured in the conflict, prompting criticism. The mediation was facilitated by the PPP Sindh Minister for Sports, Agriculture, and Youth Affairs, who brought both parties together to resolve the matter peacefully.
The resolution has been welcomed by the local community, with hopes that business and civic life will return to normal in the area.
