PESHAWAR: Under the open-door policy of the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, an open court (Khuli Kachehri) was held in Peshawar by the Labour Department to resolve issues faced by industrial workers and ensure prompt redressal of complaints.
The session was chaired by Secretary Labour and Chairman Workers Welfare Board, Captain (R) Mian Adil Iqbal. Other officials present included Secretary Workers Welfare Board Sher Alam Khan, Vice Commissioner ESSI Waseem Ahmad, Director Labour Tariq Khan, Director Works Asif Majeed, and Deputy Director Medical, among others.
A large number of workers, particularly women, attended the open court and presented their concerns directly to the administration. Immediate instructions were issued on the spot for resolving the complaints.
Speaking at the event, the Secretary Labour said the welfare of the working class is a top priority of the KP government. He announced that five children of workers will be awarded international scholarships annually, while ten children will receive opportunities to prepare for Civil Services examinations through the CSA Academy at government expense.
Questions raised by the workers were addressed transparently, comprehensively, and satisfactorily. Participants expressed appreciation for the administration’s people-friendly approach, timely action, and effective problem-solving.
The open court reflects the provincial government’s commitment to transparent governance, the welfare of workers, and swift resolution of public issues.
