DERA ISMAIL KHAN: An oath-taking ceremony of the Pakistan Doctors Association was held at the DHQ Hospital in Dera Ismail Khan, bringing together senior medical professionals, hospital administrators and political figures from the district.
Former chief minister Sardar Ali Amin Khan Gandapur attended the event as chief guest and administered the oath to PDA members. Doctors renewed their pledge to uphold professional duties, provide quality patient care and adhere to medical ethics.
Addressing the gathering, Gandapur said doctors were among the most important segments of society because of their direct role in serving humanity. He described the health sector as the backbone of any society and said the responsibility for providing timely, quality and equitable healthcare rested jointly with the government and the medical community. He praised the Pakistan Doctors Association for addressing professional issues while also contributing to the improvement of the wider healthcare system, and assured continued support for doctors and medical institutions.
The ceremony was attended by the medical superintendent of DHQ Hospital, senior doctors, the president of the Pakistan Doctors Association, MNA Dawar Khan Kundi, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf National Assembly candidate Shoaib Khan Miakhel, the PTI president for Dera Ismail Khan and other prominent figures.
Speakers said such ceremonies helped promote discipline, professional competence and a sense of responsibility among doctors, while strengthening public trust in medical institutions. The event ended with a collective pledge to continue joint efforts for improving the health sector.
