ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tourism, Sports and Family Festival 2026 is set to kick off in the capital this weekend, promising to showcase the country’s scenic attractions and cultural heritage while promoting tourism and family-friendly entertainment.

Prime Minister’s Tourism Coordinator Sardar Yasir Ilyas said the two-day festival, running at F-9 Park and Jinnah Sports Complex on January 31 and February 1, will highlight Pakistan’s positive image, encourage domestic and international tourism, and provide free entry for families.
The event will feature traditional sports including tent pegging and spear-throwing competitions with over 50 teams, motorbike and car shows, paragliding, regional food stalls, cultural performances, music, art and craft exhibitions, and children’s activities. A musical concert and hot-air balloon displays are also planned.
Sardar Yasir emphasized that the festival, organised by the federal and provincial governments alongside tourism corporations and private stakeholders, aims to establish Islamabad as a vibrant tourism hub and send a global message of Pakistan’s peace and hospitality.
Secretary Interprovincial Coordination Mohiuddin Wani added that the festival reflects the government’s commitment to tourism, culture, sports, and healthy recreational activities, offering citizens a safe and enjoyable platform to experience the country’s heritage and adventure tourism.
