KHAIRPUR: Nawab Ali Wassan, president of Pakistan Peoples Party Khairpur district and former member of the National Assembly, attended the Parents’ Day ceremony at Cadet College Khairpur as chief guest on 31 January 2026, paying tribute to a martyred cadet.
On his arrival, the college administration gave Nawab Wassan a traditional and warm welcome, presenting a guard of honour. The event began with the national anthem, followed by a disciplined and impressive parade by the cadets, which drew applause from the chief guest and attendees.
During the ceremony, Nawab Wassan distributed shields and awards to cadets with outstanding performance and praised the college for its exemplary discipline, high educational standards, and training system. He said institutions like Cadet College Khairpur are shaping the nation’s future and that the college’s discipline is worthy of emulation.
The chief guest was also shown various educational, intellectual, and creative tableaux prepared by the cadets, which he lauded as a reflection of the students’ talent, hard work, and the positive training environment of the institution.
In his speech, Nawab Wassan paid respects to the father of the martyred cadet and honored the cadet’s ultimate sacrifice, describing the contributions of martyrs as a shining chapter in Pakistan’s history and a source of national pride.
He also announced several development projects to benefit the college and its students, including the installation of a water filtration plant, road construction, provision of an ambulance, and other essential facilities for students.
Principal of Cadet College Khairpur also addressed the gathering, highlighting the institution’s academic performance, discipline, training system, and the all-round development of cadets. He thanked Nawab Ali Wassan for his visit and welcomed the announced initiatives as a positive contribution to the college.
The ceremony was attended by college administration, teachers, parents, distinguished guests, and a large number of citizens, and was widely praised for its success and organization.
