He warned that the recent foiled child suicide bombing in Karachi and the Pasni case starkly exposed how vulnerable young minds are being systematically radicalized

QUETTA: Federal ministers on Sunday strongly condemned the recent coordinated terrorist attacks in Balochistan, saying India was funding terrorism in Pakistan to undermine the country’s economy.
Defence minister Khawaja Asif said India-backed terrorists were now exploiting women and children to advance their malicious objectives. Addressing a press conference at his residence in Sialkot, he said women had been used at two locations in the attacks carried out a day earlier.
He said the recently foiled child suicide bombing attempt in Karachi and the case involving a young girl in Pasni were clear evidence that innocent minds were being systematically radicalized.
At least 145 terrorists have been killed in nearly 40 hours across the province after terrorists belonging to the outlawed Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) launched what were described as coordinated attacks across 12 towns, Balochistan chief minister Sarfraz Bugti said.
He added that 17 security personnel and 31 civilians had embraced martyrdom during the attacks carried out across the province. Speaking to journalists, Asif said the attacks took place on Saturday at 12 different locations across Balochistan, with a deliberate attempt to cause widespread bloodshed.
The defence minister said the violence was intended to compensate for losses suffered by the BLA and its affiliated organizations over the past year. He said multiple locations were targeted simultaneously, underscoring the organized nature of the attacks.
He said the incidents pointed to a clear nexus between India and the BLA, describing them as two sides of the same coin and accusing the group of operating as an Indian proxy. Asif said that following what he described as a major setback faced by India in May last year, such attacks were now being used to deliberately target civilian populations.
He said the actions were aimed at destabilizing Pakistan at a time when the country, after two years of economic hardship, had begun to make progress again. He added that India and the BLA wanted to push Pakistan back into economic darkness and undermine its national integrity.
