KARACHI: A high-level meeting of the central departments of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM-P) was held today at the party headquarters in Bahadurabad under the chairmanship of Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, with senior leaders Syed Aminul Haq and Kaif Aluri also in attendance.
The meeting reviewed strategic plans regarding the Gul Plaza tragedy, the ongoing Karachi Relief Campaign, and humanitarian initiatives planned under the Khidmat-e-Khalq Foundation during the holy month of Ramadan.
Addressing the participants, Dr. Siddiqui reiterated the party’s commitment to the victims of the Gul Plaza incident, stating that MQM-P would not leave the affected families alone. He emphasized the demand for a federal inquiry commission under the Pakistan Commission of Inquiries Act, describing it not merely as a political stance, but as a genuine representation of public sentiment and the pain of victims.
Regarding the Karachi Relief Campaign, Dr. Siddiqui pledged that MQM-P will continue raising its voice on all platforms until full justice is delivered. He clarified that the initiative is a purely humanitarian effort, free from political motives. The campaign aims to bring together industrialists, traders, lawyers, doctors, educators, journalists, and members of all walks of life to raise awareness about Karachi’s pressing issues and MQM-P’s mission for the city.
He further directed that under the Khidmat-e-Khalq Foundation, immediate steps be taken during Ramadan to distribute ration and provide financial assistance to the poor, needy families, and relatives of martyrs. “Public service remains the cornerstone of MQM-P’s politics, and there will be no deviation from this principle,” he stated.
