ISLAMABAD: Security forces are continuing a large-scale “sanitisation” operation in Balochistan against terrorists described by officials as belonging to Fitna‑e‑Hindustan, according to security sources.
The sources said that a further 22 terrorists were killed during follow‑up operations overnight, taking the total number of fatalities to 177 over the past three days. The operation involves coordinated action by the military, intelligence agencies and police against both fighters and their alleged facilitators.
Officials added that there were reports of additional casualties and losses suffered by terrorist networks, although no independent confirmation was immediately available.
Mohsin Naqvi, praised the security forces for what he called a successful operation. He said the military, police and intelligence agencies had foiled “malicious designs” aimed at destabilising Balochistan. He paid tribute to the professionalism of the forces involved, saying the nation was proud of its “brave sons.”
