DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Government Girls Degree College No. 1 Dera observed Kashmir Solidarity Day in a peaceful and purposeful manner, fostering an intellectually engaging atmosphere under the leadership of Principal Aafia Saadat.
The ceremony was attended by General Officer Commanding (GOC) Major General Mudassir Saeed and Station Commander Dera Brigadier Muhammad Abu Bakar as chief guests. They were warmly received by the college faculty and students upon arrival.
Students delivered thought-provoking speeches, performed national songs, and presented tableaus highlighting the struggles of the oppressed Kashmiri people. The performances expressed strong solidarity with Kashmiris and created an emotionally moving environment for the audience.
The program emphasised peace, resilience, human rights, and moral and diplomatic support for the Kashmiri people. Speakers noted that Kashmir Solidarity Day is not merely symbolic but a reminder of the nation’s collective responsibility and ongoing commitment to stand with the oppressed.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the college reaffirmed its commitment to continue promoting national awareness, social responsibility, and positive character building among students.
