DERA ISMAIL KHAN: A high-level meeting was convened to review the law and order situation in the district under the chairmanship of Regional Police Officer (RPO) Dera, Syed Ashfaq Anwar, following directives from Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Zulfiqar Hameed.
The session was attended by DPO Dera Sahibzada Sajjad Ahmad, SP Investigation, SP CTD, SP Saddar, City and Paharpur divisions, all SDPOs, DSP Headquarters, DSP Traffic, and SHOs from across the district.
During the meeting, participants conducted a detailed review of the overall security situation, terrorism-related cases, crime trends, and security arrangements across the district.
Addressing the gathering, RPO Syed Ashfaq Anwar directed officers to intensify operations against terrorists and their facilitators, emphasizing the need for coordinated search and strike operations, combing activities, and intelligence-led interventions. He instructed that the intelligence network be strengthened to ensure timely prevention of crimes.
All police stations were directed to enhance patrolling, checkpoints, and quick response measures to improve public safety. Special instructions were also given to DSP Traffic to ensure smooth traffic flow and strict enforcement of traffic laws, including action against vehicles with tinted windows, illegal parking near schools and colleges, and any traffic disruptions.
The RPO further ordered heightened security at banks and other sensitive locations. With the upcoming holy month of Ramadan, he instructed the implementation of a comprehensive security plan to ensure citizens’ safety, stating, “Ensuring the protection of citizens during Ramadan is our top priority.”
He urged officers to perform their duties with honesty, vigilance, and dedication, while emphasizing the importance of community cooperation in maintaining peace. RPO Syed Ashfaq Anwar reaffirmed that indiscriminate action against terrorism and criminal elements would continue and offenders would be brought to justice.
