SUKKUR: Kashmir Solidarity Day on February 5 was marked with fervor and determination across Sindh, with rallies organized by educational institutions, universities, and the district administration to express solidarity with the oppressed people of Kashmir.
At Khairpur Medical College, a rally from the college to the Press Club Khairpur condemned Indian atrocities and highlighted Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Kashmiri people. Led by College Principal Professor Dr. Javed Ahmed Phulpoto, Vice Principal Dr. Mukhtiar Ahmed Lakho, Chief Administrator Dr. Farrukh Bhanbhro, Administrator Dr. Tariq Soomro, and Din Muhammad Lashari, the event saw large participation from students and faculty members. Protesters carried banners and placards, raising slogans against Indian brutality and calling on the international community, including the United Nations, to take decisive action to protect Kashmiri human rights.
Mehran University of Engineering & Technology, Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Campus in Khairpur Mir’s, also organized a Kashmir Solidarity rally through its Students Welfare Section. The rally, led by Pro Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Dur Muhammad Pithan and attended by faculty, staff, and students, featured slogans and banners in support of Kashmir. Dr. Pithan reaffirmed that Kashmir is the jugular vein of Pakistan, while Dr. Mujeeb Iqbal Soomro, Director Administration, offered special prayers for the freedom of Kashmir, national security, and martyrs.
Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University in Shaheed Benazirabad held a grand and peaceful rally under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Madad Ali Shah. Teaching and non-teaching staff carried placards and banners, denouncing ongoing oppression in Kashmir and urging the international community to play an active role in achieving justice. Professor Dr. Madad Ali Shah reiterated that the university stands firmly with the Kashmiri people and will continue to advocate for their rights. The rally concluded with prayers for the freedom of Kashmir and for the martyrs.
In Sukkur, the District Administration organized a large rally beginning at Sukkur Municipal Stadium and culminating at the Sukkur Press Club. The rally was led by Additional Deputy Commissioner Bushra Mansoor, accompanied by Assistant Commissioner Sukkur City Sarah Faraz, and attended by officials from government departments, students, teachers, civil society representatives, and political and religious leaders. Participants carried Pakistani and Kashmiri flags, chanting slogans such as “The struggle for Kashmir’s freedom will continue,” “Free Kashmir,” and “Indian atrocities are unacceptable.”
ADC Bushra Mansoor, addressing the participants, condemned Indian aggression and human rights violations in occupied Kashmir, praising the resilience of the Kashmiri people. She affirmed Pakistan’s steadfast support for Kashmiris on every platform and called upon the United Nations and international community to take immediate and meaningful action. The rally concluded with tributes to Kashmiri martyrs and special prayers for freedom, peace, and stability in the region.
These events across Sindh underscored the continued unity, determination, and moral support of the Pakistani people for the Kashmiri struggle for self-determination.
