PESHAWAR: Kashmir Solidarity Day was observed in Peshawar with a large-scale rally from the Chief Minister’s House to the Governor’s House, demonstrating Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Kashmiri people. The rally was led by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi and Finance Advisor Mazamil Aslam, with participation from National Assembly members including Arbab Sher Ali, Deputy Commissioner Peshawar Captain (R) Sanaullah Khan, Secretary Administration Shahid Sohail Khan, heads of administrative departments, civil society representatives, business leaders, and students.

Participants carried placards condemning Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir and expressed solidarity with the oppressed Kashmiri population. At the central gate of the Governor’s House, a one-minute silence was observed in memory of Kashmiri martyrs, and tributes were paid to those who sacrificed their lives for freedom.
Addressing the rally, Governor Kundi stated that the struggle of the Kashmiri people for freedom is legitimate and their right to self-determination cannot be suppressed by force. He stressed the urgency of strengthening diplomatic efforts to ensure Kashmiris’ rights in line with United Nations resolutions and their long-cherished aspirations.
Governor Kundi highlighted India’s unilateral and illegal actions of August 5, 2019, as further complicating the Kashmir issue, urging the international community to act against ongoing human rights violations and aggression in the occupied territory. He assured that Pakistan would continue to provide political, diplomatic, and moral support to its Kashmiri brethren on every international forum.
Concluding his address, he praised the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for standing with Kashmiris and saluted the courage and resilience of the Kashmiri people in the face of decades of oppression, asserting that their struggle for freedom will continue until Kashmir is liberated from illegal domination.
